The Weaving Culture of Şile Cloth

We look at Şile’s weaving tradition, the work behind the cloth, and what this culture means to Blanc Sile Fabrics.

The Weaving Culture of Şile Cloth

Blanc Sile Fabrics takes its name from Şile, north of Istanbul. The brand story began in Istanbul in 2019 as a mother-and-daughter venture inspired by the weaving culture of Şile Cloth.

More than a fabric

Şile Cloth is part of a weaving tradition shaped over generations by the work of local women. When we talk about this tradition, we look beyond the cloth’s appearance to the knowledge and time behind it.

Blanc Sile Fabrics’ approach is to develop simple forms that respect this cultural heritage. Without suggesting that every weave or product is the same, we aim to let the character of the material show through in the design.

Made for everyday life

Traditional weaving can find a place in today’s home and wardrobe. Timeless lines and considered use allow the fabric itself to take the lead.
